- I met Kelly Grigg early on while setting up our company, I felt such a comfortable feeling of knowing I would be cared for and our needs would be looked after.
“We are a young start up company which means that I’m not an insurance expert. I thought the insurance part would be no big deal at all – just pick up a policy, offer it to the employees and move along. “WRONG”.
We have 25 employees and went with a broker due to a business former business relationship. I was told it really didn’t matte, they’re all selling the same things. Getting the information compiled in a manner that I could present to the employees was a major task. I was getting a bunch of gobbledygook numbers and policies and no explanations – nothing I could present to my employees. We pushed through and had meetings at the 5 different locations. The representative didn’t even expect to attend these meetings, but when pressed he did. The meetings were confusing, troubling and left everyone with more questions. At one point an employee who realized he would be without life insurance for a month questioned what to do, the response was “don’t die”. Maybe that was supposed to be a joke, but it wasn’t funny and showed a lack of concern. I was getting bad advice on billing statements, calculations were incorrect on what was to be withheld from payroll and basically, I was left hanging to “figure it out”. The next month, I fired this representative and went with a company I had met in my initial search, The Grigg Group.

She immediately found some duplicate coverage in our AFLAC policy that employees were paying for duplicate similar coverage (way beyond what would be expected.
